Audition - Glee Club

Alex smiled to herself, though she was extremely nervous. Today was her audition for glee club, after Alex & Hectar had convinced her join Glee Club. She was looking forward to it though, a new experience was good right? Though, she'd never sung in front of anyone but herself. Oh, & she'd sung to her younger brother when trying to make him go to sleep. That's it, so this was completely different to anything she'd every done before.

Hectar was grinning to himself. Ali was auditioning for Glee, and so he was pleased. He hoped she sounded good, seeing as she was a good friend and he'd decided that, if she was good, she could be his duet partner. Alex seemed to prefer solos, so Hectar needed a new duet partner. She entered the room and he asked Mr. Schuester if he could take the stage. The action was consented and so he stood up and went over to Ali. He pulled her to the front and said, "Hey guys, this is Ali Gracia and she's auditioning to join. So... take it away Ali!" He nodded and returned to his seat, after wishing her good luck and touching her arm.

She took a deep breath nervously before she started singing.
"Here I was again tonight forcing laughter, faking smiles
Same old tired, lonely place
Walls of insincerity
Shifiting eyes and vancancy vanished when I saw your face

Your eyes whispered "have we met?"
Across the room your silhouette starts to make it's way to me
The playful conversation starts

The lingering question kept me up

Hectar clapped and cheered, as did everyone else. Puckerman wolf-whistlde, which made everyone either laugh or smile. Mr. Schuester put his arm around her and announced, "You're in!" Everyone cheered again and Hecatr smiled at her. She was good!

Ali smiled, that had gone pretty well if she was so bold as to say. She laughed when she heard someone wolf whistle as did everyone else. She was actually really pleased to have joined, it was something new. If it turned out she didn't like it, she'd just quit. Right? Alex smiled back at Hectar, before going & sitting down next to him. Since she didn't really know anyone else, & it was one of the only seats left.

Hectar smiled when she sat down next to him, and put his hand on her shoulder. "You were really good, trust me." He was then struck with an idea. "You wanna do a solo? You probably know the words... Most people do." He didn't let on what song, though. He wanted to keep it a surprise.

"Thanks" She replied, she didn't think she was any good but if Hectar did & the others seemed to, maybe she had a shot at this singing business."Ermmm...." Ali muttered, thinking it over for a second. Then decided that it was probably best to get use to performing in front of people now she was a part of the glee club. "Alright then." She agreed smiling.

Hectar smiled when she agreed and pulled her up by the arm. "Hit it!" He told the band, and began:

"It's astounding;
Time is fleeting;
Madness takes its toll.
But listen closely...

Not for very much longer.

I've got to keep control.

I remember doing the time-warp
Drinking those moments when
The Blackness would hit me

And the void would be calling..."

The rest of the Club joined in with, "Let's do the Time Warp again! Let's do the Time Warp!"

Hecatr jumped in: "It's just a jump to the left."

Then came the rest of the New Directions, "And then a step to the right.

Hectar: "Put your hands on your hips."

Everyone else: "You bring your knees in tight.
But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane.
Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again."

He then pointed to Alex, signalling for her to come in.

Ali started giggling as soon as they started singing, she hadn't heard this song in like forever.
"It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me.
So you can't see me, no, not at all.
In another dimension, with
voyeuristic intention,
Well secluded, I see all." She carried on singing!

Hectar started up again, "With a bit of a mind flip
You're into the time slip.
And nothing can ever be the same.
You're spaced out on sensation.
Like you're under sedation.

Then came the rest of the club, "Let's do the time-warp again.
Let's do the time-warp again."

With Ali being so good, surprisingly, he let her do the next bit. It was a female voice anyway, so he didn't see why not.

"Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change

Ali sung, she was almost laughing while she sang. Not at them, but with them. This was the happiest she'd been since her mum died.
